Template and binder free 1D cobalt nickel hydrogen phosphate electrode materials for supercapacitor application

Summary: In this study, 1D bimetallic hydrogen phosphate nanorods were synthesized using a simple and effective chemical bath deposition method, and their properties were characterized. Co0.75Ni0.25(HPO4) showed high specific capacity and cycling stability, while the fabricated asymmetric supercapacitor exhibited high specific capacitance and energy density.

Ultrafine chromium oxide (Cr2O3) nanoparticles as a pseudocapacitive electrode material for supercapacitors

Summary: In this study, Cr2O3 ultrafine particles were investigated as a promising energy candidate for supercapacitors, demonstrating both EDL and pseudocapacitive features during the charging-discharging process. The unique electrochemical characteristics of Cr2O3 nanoparticles were analyzed for the first time, showing a superior specific capacitance and excellent cycling retention. Coupled with an activated carbon electrode, the asymmetric supercapacitor achieved remarkable specific energy and power density.

Various analyses including XRD, FE-SEM, HR-TEM, UV-Vis, PL, and BET were conducted to study the structure, optical properties, and surface area of the co-doped NiCo2O4. The results showed that the co-doped NiCo2O4 exhibited higher specific capacitance, excellent reversibility, and cyclic stability, making it a promising electrode material for supercapacitor applications.
