MOF-derived 3D petal-like CoNi-LDH array cooperates with MXene to effectively inhibit fire and toxic smoke hazards of FPUF

Yifan Zhou et al.

Summary: In this study, a double metal hydroxide derived from ZIF-67 (MOF-LDH) modified Ti3C2TX (Ti3C2TX@MOF-LDH) was innovatively designed to address the serious smoke and fire hazards caused by the combustion of flexible polyurethane foam (FPUF). The FPUF nanocomposite containing 6 wt% Ti3C2TX@MOF-LDH achieved significant reduction in both smoke production and toxic gases, while also improving the mechanical properties of the material.

A review on synergistic coexisting pollutants for efficient photocatalytic reaction in wastewater remediation

F. F. A. Aziz et al.

Summary: With the rapid development of the economy and industry, water pollution has become increasingly serious due to the excessive chemical wastes that need to be removed via reduction or oxidation reactions. Simultaneous removal of dual pollutants through photocatalytic redox reactions has been extensively studied in the past five years as it effectively decontaminates pollutants compared to single pollutant systems. This review classifies binary pollutants selectively removed through photocatalytic reduction or oxidation according to heavy metal-organic pollutants, heavy metal-heavy metal pollutants, and organic-organic pollutants. The intrinsic relationship between pollutants is explained through three different mechanisms, and strategies for enhancing this treatment method are discussed. This review provides a recent perspective on the development of photocatalysis systems for industrial applications.

Enhanced electrocatalytic activity by NiCu-LDH/CoS as dual co-catalysts on g-C3N4 nanosheets in NiCu-LDH@CoS/g-C3N4 nanostructure for oxygen evolution reactions

Kotesh Kumar Mandari et al.

Summary: In this study, a strongly coupled ternary electrocatalyst of NiCu-layered double hydroxide (NiCu-LDH) on cobalt sulfide (CoS) and graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) was synthesized and exhibited excellent oxygen evolution reaction (OER) performance in alkaline electrolyte. The enhanced electrocatalytic activity was attributed to efficient charge transfer and enhanced electronic effects at the heterojunction interface. The optimized nanostructure showed good stability with a remarkable 99.7% OER efficiency.

Metal ion-assisted conversion of Co-ZIF-L to CoNi-layered double hydroxides with high electrochemical properties for supercapacitors

Jingqiu Li et al.

Summary: Metal ion-induced etching can effectively convert zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs) to CoNi-layered double hydroxides (LDH) with various morphologies and electrochemical properties. The improved electrochemical performance of CoNi-LDH can be attributed to its structural advantages, where the well-dispersed ultrathin CoNi-LDH layers favor the exposure of surface active sites and promote ion diffusion.
