Coordination of the Hemilabile Ligand Diphenylvinylphosphine to Ru4(μ-H)4(CO)12: Synthesis, Stability and Structural Studies

Ren Kai Edward Neo et al.

Summary: Thermal activation of Ru-4(mu-H)(4)(CO)(12) results in the formation of substitution products 2a and 2b with diphenylvinylphosphine ligands terminally bound to ruthenium centers. The clusters retain their structural integrity at elevated temperatures and maintain the D2d symmetry of the parent cluster 1.

Ligand substitution in the osmium carbonyl cluster Os2(CO)8(μ3-SbPh)Os(CO)3(Cl)2: Towards derivatives of the osmostibine metalloligand

Ying-Zhou Li et al.

Summary: The derivatisation of the osmium carbonyl cluster Os-2(CO)(8)(mu(3)-SbPh)Os(CO)(3)(Cl)(2) as a route to derivatives of the metalloligand Os-2(CO)(8)(mu-SbPh) was explored. Different stoichiometries of reaction with PPh3 in CH3CN led to mono-, di-, tri- and tetra-substitution by PPh3 and CH3CN. The generation of CH3CN-substituted osmostibine through in situ conversion of a bis-acetonitrile derivative was successful.
