A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Systemic Antibiotic Therapy in the Treatment of Peri-Implantitis

Summary: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of systemic antibiotic administration in the treatment of peri-implantitis. The results showed that systemic antibiotics had no significant impact on probing pocket depth and bleeding on probing. However, secondary outcomes such as reduced clinical attachment level, lower suppuration and recession, less bone loss, and a reduction in total bacterial counts were observed.
