Solubility Measurement and Thermodynamic Model Correlation of Baclofen in 12 Pure Organic Solvents

Cunbin Du et al.

Summary: The solubility data of baclofen in 12 different pure solvents was measured and correlated using the modified Apelblat equation and lambda h equation. The results showed that the highest solubility of baclofen was obtained in N,N-dimethylformamide, and the solubility decreased with the increase of solubility parameters in alcohol solvents and with the decrease of solvent polarity in aprotic solvents. The modified Apelblat equation provided a good description of the dissolution behavior of baclofen in selected pure solvents.

Dissolution thermodynamic properties calculation and intermolecular interaction analysis of diacerein in different pure and mixed solvents

Cunbin Du et al.

Summary: The purpose of this study is to improve the solubility of insoluble diacerein by using a cosolvent. The findings suggest that adding a cosolvent with hydrogen bonding and enhanced solvent polarity at a certain temperature can enhance the dissolution of diacerein.

Bezafibrate in several aqueous mixtures of low alcohols: Solubility, solvent effect and preferential solvation

Chenghong Li et al.

Summary: The study experimentally investigated the saturated solubility of bezafibrate in various solvents and aqueous co-solvent mixtures, and mathematically described the mole fraction solubility using different models. The preferential solvation of bezafibrate by different solvents in alcohol-rich and water-rich compositions was quantitatively analyzed. The main factors related to solvent effect were identified through linear solvation energy relationships.

The solubility profile and dissolution thermodynamic properties of minocycline hydrochloride in some pure and mixed solvents at several temperatures

Rongrong Li et al.

Summary: The solubility of alpha-minocycline hydrochloride was higher in alcohols compared with ethyl acetate and acetonitrile, possibly due to their ability to form hydrogen bonds with the solute molecule. In mixtures of ethyl acetate + methanol, the solubility values initially increased and then decreased with the mass fraction of methanol, reaching a maximum of 6.07 x 10(-3) at w = 0.60. The dissolution process was found to be endothermic and entropy driven, with solute-solvent interactions playing a significant role in the solubility behavior.

The co-solvency and thermodynamic properties of camptothecin in mixtures of (ethyl acetate plus methanol/ethanol)

Xianlang Chen et al.

Summary: The study investigated the solubility profile, molecular interactions, and dissolution thermodynamic properties of camptothecin in mixtures of (ethyl acetate + methanol) and (ethyl acetate + ethanol) at different temperatures. It was found that the solubility profile of camptothecin was influenced by the mass fraction of ethyl acetate, with the CNIBS/R-K model showing better consistency in predicting solubility compared to the Jouyban-Acree model. Additionally, the dissolution process was determined to be endothermic and entropy-increasing, with enthalpy playing a major role in the standard free energy of solution process.

Dissolution behaviour and thermodynamic properties of rubidate in (methanol plus water) and (ethanol plus water) mixtures from T = (278.15 to 318.15) K

Rongrong Li et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the dissolution behavior of rubidate in (methanol + water) and (ethanol + water) mixtures and calculate the apparent thermodynamic properties. The solubility of rubidate increased monotonically with the increasing mass fraction of alcohols in selected mixtures. The dissolution process was found to be both endothermic and entropy-driving, and the study is beneficial for optimizing the preparation and purification process.

Solubility determination and thermodynamic properties calculation of macitentan in mixtures of ethyl acetate and alcohols

Rongrong Li et al.

Summary: In this study, the solubility of macitentan in various mixed solvents was investigated, showing a correlation with temperature and ethyl acetate mass fraction. The CNIBS/R-K model was found to provide suitable predictions in all three mixed solvents. The dissolution process was determined to be both endothermic and entropy-driving based on the analysis of apparent thermodynamic properties.
