Influence of rare earth element terbium doping on microstructure and magnetostrictive properties of Fe81Al19 alloy

Rui Wang et al.

Summary: Fe81Al19Tbx (x = 0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4) alloys were prepared using a non-consumable vacuum arc melting technique, and their microstructures and magnetic properties were studied. The doped alloys exhibited preferred orientation and enhanced magnetostrictive properties.

Magneto-structural correlations in Fe-25 at%Al influenced by substitution of Fe by Co and by thermal treatment

Y. Jiraskova et al.

Summary: The Fe-Al-Co alloys with different Co content and initial structures were investigated using various techniques, and it was found that the alloy with lower Co content and the initial A2 structure showed more sensitivity to thermal treatments, resulting in changes in morphology, defects concentration, and magnetic properties.

Al-Fe-Ge: Phase equilibria and new ternary compounds at 400?

Gabriel R. Reisinger et al.

Summary: In this study, the partial isothermal section of the Al-Fe-Ge ternary system at 400 ℃ was investigated, revealing four new compounds and complex phase equilibria. The crystal structures of tau(7) and tau(5) were determined while those of tau(6) and tau(8) remain unknown.

Phase Equilibria in the Fe-Al-Nb(-B) System at 700 °C

A. Gedsun et al.

Summary: In this study, phase equilibria between Fe3Al and the Nb(Fe,Al)(2) Laves phase were determined, which is of interest for future alloy developments. It was found that the solid solubility for Nb in Fe-Al increases significantly as the Al content increases. The compositions and properties of the co-existing phases in the Fe-Al-Nb alloys were also investigated.

Magnetic behavior of ordered DO3-type Fe3Al Heusler alloy

R. Naveen Kumar et al.

Summary: Fe3Al alloy was synthesized in a vacuum arc-melting furnace and subjected to annealing for recrystallization. The magnetic and thermal properties were measured, revealing ferromagnetic ordering and a second-order phase transition.
