Strongly Coupled Tin(IV) Sulfide-MultiWalled Carbon Nanotube Hybrid Composites and Their Enhanced Thermoelectric Properties

Dabin Park et al.

Summary: In this study, tin(IV) sulfide (SnS2) and multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) composites were fabricated using a simple solution-mixing method in a hydrothermal reactor. The strong interface between SnS2 and MWCNTs in the composite material was found to be due to the formation of Sn-O and Sn-S bonds. Furthermore, the temperature-dependent thermoelectric properties showed that the SnS2-MWCNT hybrid composite with 3 wt % MWCNTs exhibited significantly enhanced power factor compared to pristine SnS2.

High-performance in n-type PbTe-based thermoelectric materials achieved by synergistically dynamic doping and energy filtering

Hang-Tian Liu et al.

Summary: By introducing Ag2Te and dynamically doping silver into n-type Pb0.975Cr0.025Te, a peak figure of merit of 1.5 at 773K was achieved. The high value is attributed to the synergistic optimization of carrier and phonon transports. Ag2Te nanoprecipitates establish coherent interfaces with the matrix to induce energy-dependent carrier scattering and maintain relatively high carrier mobility, leading to optimal electrical-transport properties over a wide temperature range.

Significant thermoelectric conversion efficiency enhancement of single layer graphene with substitutional silicon dopants

Woorim Lee et al.

Summary: In this study, the introduction of substitutional Si dopants into graphene led to a significant enhancement in thermoelectric conversion efficiency, mainly due to the suppression of thermal conductivity. The electrical properties of Si-doped graphene were less affected by Si dopants compared to thermal conductivity, leading to a promising method to overcome the limitations of current graphene-based thermoelectric materials.

3D/2D Bi2S3/SnS2 heterostructures: superior charge separation and enhanced solar light-driven photocatalytic performance

Sumana Paul et al.

Summary: The article introduces the fabrication of a 3D/2D heterostructure using a two-step solvothermal process, constructing a Bi2S3/SnS2 photocatalyst with enhanced photocatalytic activity through improved photoinduced charge separation. The study shows that the increased surface area and porous structure of the heterostructure make it more active than pure SnS2, indicating its importance as a new generation photocatalytic system.
