Development of 'multiresistance rice' by an assembly of herbicide, insect and disease resistance genes with a transgene stacking system

Chuanxu Li et al.

Summary: A highly efficient transgene stacking system was used to develop a multiresistance rice variety with improved resistance to glyphosate, borers, brown planthopper, bacterial blight, and rice blast. The obtained rice variety showed desirable agronomic traits and higher yield compared to the recipient cultivar under natural occurrence of pests and diseases.

Elevation of Fatty Acid Biosynthesis Metabolism Contributes to Zhongshengmycin Resistance in Xanthomonas oryzae

Qiaoxing Wang et al.

Summary: This study demonstrated distinct metabolic profiles between zhongshengmycin-resistant X. oryzae (Xoo-Rzs) and zhongshengmycin-sensitive X. oryzae (Xoo-S) using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). It was found that resistance to zhongshengmycin in X. oryzae is related to increased fatty acid biosynthesis. This provides a basis for controlling the production of antibiotic-resistant strains of X. oryzae and developing coping strategies.

Transcriptome Analysis on the Mechanism of Ethylicin Inhibiting Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae on Kiwifruit

Tao Liu et al.

Summary: Ethylicin effectively inhibits the growth of kiwifruit bacterial canker disease by limiting bacterial movement, destroying cell membrane, and inhibiting biofilm formation. It achieves this by up-regulating genes related to protein export and biofilm formation while down-regulating genes related to flagellar assembly.
