On a Reconstruction of a Solely Time-Dependent Source in a Time-Fractional Diffusion Equation with Non-smooth Solutions

A. S. Hendy et al.

Summary: This paper considers an inverse source problem for a non-autonomous time fractional diffusion equation. The missing solely time-dependent source is recovered from an additional integral measurement. The existence, uniqueness, and regularity of solutions are studied, and two numerical algorithms based on Rothe's method are designed. The theoretical results are supported by numerical experiments.

Determining a time-dependent coefficient in a time-fractional diffusion-wave equation with the Caputo derivative by an additional integral condition

Ting Wei et al.

Summary: This paper focuses on recovering a time-dependent zeroth-order coefficient in a time-fractional diffusion-wave equation with the time Caputo derivative through an additional integral condition. The uniqueness and conditional stability of this inverse problem are proved, and the two-point gradient method is used for numerical solution. The properties of the forward operator are obtained to ensure the convergence of the proposed algorithm, and four numerical examples demonstrate the effectiveness and stability of the suggested approach.

An inverse potential problem for subdiffusion: stability and reconstruction

Bangti Jin et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the inverse problem of recovering a potential coefficient in the subdiffusion model from terminal data, extending the result from the standard parabolic case to the fractional case. The analysis relies on refined properties of two-parameter Mittag-Leffler functions and an efficient algorithm for numerically recovering the coefficient is developed and illustrated with numerical examples.

Global existence and blowup of solutions to semilinear fractional reaction-diffusion equation with singular potential

Zhong Tan et al.

Summary: This study investigates a semilinear fractional reaction-diffusion equation with singular potential. By proving the global existence of solutions and converting non-local problems into local problems using the Caffarelli-Silvestre extension method, decay estimates, long-time asymptotic behavior of global solutions, and blow-up behavior of local solutions are obtained.

Simultaneous inversion of the potential term and the fractional orders in a multi-term time-fractional diffusion equation

L. L. Sun et al.

Summary: This paper focuses on a nonlinear inverse problem of recovering the potential function and the fractional orders in a one-dimensional multi-term time-fractional diffusion equation from noisy boundary Cauchy data. The uniqueness of the inverse problem is derived using analytic continuation, Laplace transformation, and Gel'fand-Levitan theory. The Levenberg-Marquardt regularization method with a regularization parameter chosen by a sigmoid-type function is applied to find a stable approximate solution, which is demonstrated through three numerical examples.
