Free vibration analysis of coupled structures of laminated composite conical, cylindrical and spherical shells based on the spectral-Tchebychev technique

Chenchen Guo et al.

Summary: This article applies a numerical spectral-Tchebyshev technique to study the free vibration characteristics of coupled structures of laminated composite conical, cylindrical, and spherical shells. By comparing the results with finite element analysis, the excellent convergence and calculation accuracy of the spectral-Tchebyshev technique are demonstrated.

Free damped vibration analysis of a truncated sandwich conical shell with a magnetorheological elastomer core

Ali Houshangi et al.

Summary: In this paper, the free vibration analysis of truncated sandwich conical shells with a magnetorheological (MR) core is investigated. A mathematical modeling is performed and a semi-analytical solution is provided. The influences of various variables on the natural frequencies and loss factors of the shell are explored.

Experimental and numerical study of transverse shear modulus for bioinspired glass fiber-reinforced polymer sandwich core

Muthukumaran Gunasegeran et al.

Summary: This study evaluates the properties of glass-reinforced polymer honeycomb core and glass-reinforced polymer corrugated bioinspired model core. Experimental results and numerical simulations show that the corrugated bioinspired model core has a higher natural frequency, making it suitable for industrial applications that require lightweight, high rigidity, and high energy-absorbing capacity sandwich composite panels.

Free vibration of three-layer sandwich plate with viscoelastic core modelled with fractional theory

Mohammad R. Permoon et al.

Summary: The present study investigates the natural frequencies and damping behavior of three-layer sandwich plates with a viscoelastic core using fractional theory. The best fitting viscoelastic model is determined by curve fitting method, and the effects of geometrical parameters on the plate are studied to draw conclusions.
