Population-based analysis of sociodemographic predictors, health-related quality of life and health service use associated with obstructive sleep apnoea and insomnia in Australia

Summary: While there is growing recognition of the effects of living with sleep disorders, studies indicate that detection rates for sleep apnoea and insomnia may still be low. The adverse relationship between sleep disorders and physical and mental health-related quality of life is substantial, with frequent consultations with a doctor associated with lower physical health-related quality of life but lower mental health-related quality of life observed only among individuals with insomnia.
