Novel Clotrimazole and Vitis vinifera loaded chitosan nanoparticles: Antifungal and wound healing efficiencies

Antifungal Encapsulated into Ligand-Functionalized Nanoparticles with High Specificity for Macrophages

Functionalized NPs have the potential to improve macrophage-targeted therapy.

Vancomycin conjugated iron oxide nanoparticles for magnetic targeting and efficient capture of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria

Summary: In this study, vancomycin-conjugated magnetite nanoparticles showed bactericidal activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The nanoparticles effectively bound to the bacteria cell wall, promoting bacterial separation and growth inhibition. These nanoparticles can be promising for effective bacterial separation and killing in dispersion media.

Various physiochemical methods and biological mechanisms were suggested to address bacterial adhesion and biofilm formation on medical surfaces.

Summary: This research focuses on the green synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNP) using the fungus Fusarium oxysporum, and examines their antibacterial, antifungal, photocatalytic activity, and enhancement of seed germination. The mycosynthesized AgNP showed significant impact on bacteria and improved the germination of mung bean seeds. Such AgNP synthesized from F. oxysporum have potential applications as antimicrobial agents, photocatalysts, and in promoting seed germination.

Characterization, antioxidant and antibacterial activities of chitosan nanoparticles loaded with nettle essential oil

Summary: In this study, nettle essential oil (NEO) was successfully encapsulated in chitosan nanoparticles using a two-stage of emulsion-ionic gelation method. The nanoparticles displayed a good retention rate and showed higher antioxidant and antibacterial activity compared to free NEO. These results indicate that the encapsulation of essential oils in chitosan nanoparticles is a promising approach for novel applications in food and pharmaceutical products.

Dual drug delivery system based on pH-sensitive silk fibroin/alginate nanoparticles entrapped in PNIPAM hydrogel for treating severe infected burn wound

Summary: A hybrid system was developed for treating chronic burn wound infections, using pH-sensitive vancomycin loaded nanoparticles embedded in a hydrogel containing epidermal growth factor. The system controlled the release rates of antibiotics and growth factors, showing promising results in promoting fibroblast proliferation, wound healing, and reducing wound infection in an in vivo model. It preserved the bioactivity of released compounds and showed potential for treating severe wound infections.
