Thermal behavior of magnetite nanoparticles with various coatings in the range 30-1000 °C

Summary: The thermal properties of iron oxide nanoparticles stabilized with starch, 5-sulfosalicylic acid, and oleic acid were studied in an oxidizing atmosphere within the range of 30-1000 degrees C using thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis. The sizes and morphology of the nanoparticles were determined through transmission and scanning electron microscopy analyses. Three stages of thermal transformation were discovered, and the thermal stability of the organic part was analyzed, with comparisons made to uncoated magnetite data.

Summary: The aim of this study was to remove palladium ions from aqueous media using a newly synthesized magnetic Fe3O4/SiO2/OPPh2 nanocomposite as the adsorbent. The study examined various factors that influence the adsorption equilibrium and investigated the effect of temperature and different isotherm models. The results showed that the best fit isotherm model was the Fritz-Schlunder model. The study also demonstrated the practical application of the proposed method in removing palladium from different water samples.

Effect of the Silica-Magnetite Nanocomposite Coating Functionalization on the Doxorubicin Sorption/Desorption

Summary: A series of new composite materials based on Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles coated with SiO2 were synthesized, and the performance of these materials in drug loading and delivery systems was explored theoretically and experimentally. The study showed that the use of PMIDA can increase the SiO2 content in the Fe3O4@SiO2 composites and enhance the loading of Dox drug. In addition, quantum chemical calculations revealed the binding mechanism of Dox to the functional groups on the surface of the nanoparticles.

Cytotoxicity determination of nano-zinc oxide eugenol on human gingival fibroblast cells
