Cellular Lnc_209997 suppresses Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus replication by targeting miR-275-5p in B. mori

Su Lin et al.

Summary: This study found that the expression of Lnc_209997 was down-regulated in the silkworm fat body infected with Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrosis virus (BmNPV). Inhibition of Lnc_209997 promoted BmNPV replication, while enhancing its expression inhibited the proliferation of BmNPV. Additionally, miR-275-5p was up-regulated in the infected silkworm fat body, and Lnc_209997 was found to interact with miR-275-5p. Over-expression of miR-275-5p facilitated BmNPV replication. These results suggest that BmNPV increases the expression of miR-275-5p by inhibiting cellular Lnc_209997 expression to promote its own proliferation.

Wolbachia Utilizes lncRNAs to Activate the Anti-Dengue Toll Pathway and Balance Reactive Oxygen Species Stress in Aedes aegypti Through a Competitive Endogenous RNA Network

Wei Mao et al.

Summary: This study investigates the genome-wide alteration of lncRNA expression profile triggered by Wolbachia wAlbB infection in Aedes aegypti cells. The results suggest that Wolbachia manipulates lncRNA to balance intracellular ROS stress and ensure its endosymbiosis in the host. Additionally, Wolbachia activates the anti-dengue Toll pathway through a lncRNA-ceRNA pattern and ensures ROS homeostasis for ROS-based anti-dengue defense. This study provides novel potential molecular biomarkers for prevention and control of epidemic dengue.
