The Effect of Early Life Stress on Emotional Behaviors in GPR37KO Mice

Vandana Veenit et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of early life stress on emotional behaviors in GPR37 knockout mice. The results indicate that early life stress has adverse effects on emotional behaviors in wild type mice, but less impact on GPR37 knockout mice. The findings also suggest that the effects are influenced by sex and emotional context.

P11 deficiency increases stress reactivity along with HPA axis and autonomic hyperresponsiveness

Vasco C. Sousa et al.

Summary: Patients with mood disorders and anxiety often show hyperresponsiveness in the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenocortical (HPA) axis and autonomic nervous system. It has been found that p11 deficiency is associated with depression-like phenotypes. In this study, p11-deficient mice were used to investigate the role of p11 in stress responsiveness, showing increased response to stress in p11KO mice, along with hyperactivity in the HPA and SAM axes. These findings suggest that p11 deficiency may lead to increased stress reactivity and behavioral changes related to depression and anxiety.

Deletion of Orphan G Protein-Coupled Receptor GPR37L1 in Mice Alters Cardiovascular Homeostasis in a Sex-Specific Manner

Margaret A. Mouat et al.

Summary: GPR37L1(-/-) mice exhibit sex-specific cardiovascular changes, with female mice showing lower blood pressure and male mice being more susceptible to cardiovascular dysfunction. This suggests that loss of GPR37L1 affects autonomic maintenance of blood pressure.

Expression of the G protein-coupled receptor (GPR) 37 and GPR37L1 in the mouse digestive system

Sonjoy Sarkar et al.

Summary: This study investigated the expression patterns of GPR37 and GPR37L1 in the mouse digestive system, revealing strong immunoreactivity in the islets of Langerhans in the pancreas and weak immunoreactivity in the nerve plexuses. Colocalization of GPR37 and tyrosine hydroxylase in the nerve plexus of the large intestine suggests a potential role of prosaposin in affecting the function of islet-secreting cells. The expression of GPR37 and GPR37L1 in the nerve plexuses indicates that prosaposin may have trophic effects not only in the central nervous system but also in the enteric nervous system.
