Thermodynamically favored stable hydrogen storage reversibility of NaBH4 inside of bimetallic nanoporous carbon nanosheets

Wei Chen et al.

Summary: A high-efficiency and reversible hydrogen storage of sodium borohydride (NaBH4) has been achieved at a low temperature (400 degrees C) with the help of bimetallic nanoporous carbon nanosheets. The reversible transformation between NiB/CoB and Ni2B/Co2B acts as a B reservoir and decreases the Gibbs free energy change, while the catalytic role of in situ formed Co2B/Ni2B promotes the H-2 desorption performance of NaBH4.
