High-performance and durable water electrolysis using a highly conductive and stable anion-exchange membrane

Sun Young Kang et al.

Summary: The commercialization of anion-exchange membrane water electrolysis (AEMWE) is crucial for producing low-cost and high-purity hydrogen. In this study, a high-performance and stable AEMWE was developed by using an anion-exchange membrane without an aryl-ether backbone structure. The adapted AEM exhibited improved performance and better durability compared to the conventional AEM.

A bargaining game-based profit allocation method for the wind-hydrogen-storage combined system

Xuejie Wang et al.

Summary: This study proposes a new profit allocation mechanism for the coexistence of multiple players in the wind-hydrogen-storage combined system. By using renewable energy to produce hydrogen, the combination of wind power plant, hydrogen energy system, and energy storage system aims to promote renewable energy consumption and improve overall system benefits. The study addresses the uncertainty of wind output and the balance of profits among multiple players through the development of a distributionally robust optimization model and a profit allocation model based on Nash-Harsanyi bargaining game theory.

Summary: This paper presents a new fault-tolerant operation method using a multiphase stacked inter-leaved Buck converter for green hydrogen production. By introducing an improved topology and a fault-tolerant control strategy, the converter can operate in multiple modes to meet the different performance requirements of the electrolyzer in the hydrogen production system. The proposed method improves the availability of the converter, reduces equipment shutdowns, and ensures the continuous operation of the hydrogen production system.

Summary: The Pt-WRE presented is a diagnostic tool for analyzing the performance degradation of a PEM-WE during an accelerated stress test. It allows for determination of proton sheet resistance, anode catalyst layer capacitance, and high-frequency resistance, revealing that increasing contact resistance between the anode electrode and the porous transport layer is the main cause for performance decrease.
