Synthesis of a Pd2In-Pd3In bi-continuous nanoporous structure by electrochemical dealloying in molten salts

D. A. Rozhentsev et al.

Summary: In a study of high-temperature electrochemical selective dissolution of PdIn intermetallics in molten mixtures of alkali chlorides, nanoporous structures consisting of Pd2In and Pd3In intermetallics have been obtained to form a coherent structure. The temperature and current density play crucial roles in controlling the pore size and structural morphology. The morphology of pores and ligaments exhibit a 3D hierarchy with varying sizes but consistent composition at different temperatures.
