A comprehensive study on the treatment of various organic pollutants by NiCoFe layered double oxide: Material synthesis and characterization, decomposition mechanism exploration, and real water applications

Nguyen Trung Dung et al.

Summary: NiCoFe layered double oxide (NiCoFe-LDO) was successfully synthesized and used to activate potassium peroxymonosulfate (PMS) for degrading Rhodamine B (RhB) and other dyes. The material showed high efficiency in removing RhB from surface water, and the presence of anions affected the removal efficiency. Different dyes had varying removal efficiencies, and the decomposition of RhB involved both radical and non-radical reactions. The study highlights the potential of NiCoFe-LDO/PMS in wastewater treatment.
