Study on Spontaneous Combustion Characteristics of Waste Coal Gangue Hill

Xiaoyuan Jiang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the characteristics of spontaneous combustion in coal gangue hills. It found that the coal gangue at a depth of 2.5 m had the highest temperature and fastest increase, indicating it to be the fire source of spontaneous combustion. The study also revealed that the coal gangue at this depth had the highest concentration of free radicals and strongest reaction activity. Therefore, it is important to focus on treating the coal gangue at a depth of 2.5 m to control spontaneous combustion.

Understanding the role of kerosene on the coal particle and bubble attachment process

Yumeng Chen et al.

Summary: Kerosene can enhance the hydrophobicity of coal and the bubble attachment capacity, showing more pronounced outcomes when present on both surfaces. At a microscopic scale, kerosene promotes the kinetics of film thinning, but does not cause film rupture due to attractive disjoining pressure.

Understanding the effects of salinity on bitumen-calcite interactions

Junyan Wang et al.

Summary: Experimental tests and molecular dynamic simulation reveal the influence of salinity on bitumen-CaCO3 interactions in carbonate oil reservoirs. K+ and Ca2+ cations weaken repulsion while SO42- anions strengthen it, with Ca2+ cations preferred for adsorption. Control of ion types could enhance oil recovery in carbonate oil reservoirs.

Investigations on the reverse flotation of quartz from hematite using carboxymethyl chitosan as a depressant

Hongyang Wang et al.

Summary: Depressant carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS) was introduced to reverse flotation of quartz from hematite using collector DDA. The reagent scheme of DDA/CMCS could achieve efficient separation of quartz from hematite, with CMCS showing better selective depression ability than starch. Zeta potential measurements illustrated that CMCS could prevent DDA adsorption onto the hematite surface, while it did not affect the interaction between DDA and quartz surface.

The effect of biomass addition on pyrolysis characteristics and gas emission of coal gangue by multi-component reaction model and TG-FTIR-MS

Haobo Bi et al.

Summary: The study investigated the pyrolysis experiment of biomass added to coal gangue using the TG-FTIR-MS method. It was found that biomass can promote the release of gaseous organic matter during coal gangue pyrolysis, while inhibiting the formation of CO2. Different proportions of biomass in the mixture have varying effects on the gas products of coal gangue pyrolysis, which can be well simulated using multi-component reaction models.

Bin Tian et al.

Summary: Catalytic fast pyrolysis of rice husk is a promising and effective method for producing value-added products. Understanding the volatile compositions and kinetics during pyrolysis is crucial for controlling the quality of the target products. Experimental results showed that rice husk undergoes three mass loss and gaseous product evolution stages in different temperature ranges.

Studies of benzyl hydroxamic acid/calcium lignosulphonate addition order in the flotation separation of smithsonite from calcite

Cheng Liu et al.

Summary: In this study, a reagent scheme of depressant calcium lignosulphonate (CLS) and collector benzyl hydroxamic acid (BHA) was introduced to facilitate the flotation separation of smithsonite from calcite. The addition order of BHA before CLS was found to be crucial for efficiently flotation of smithsonite from calcite, leading to optimal flotation separation performance.
