Productivity and quality of Cymbopogon martinii (Roxb.) Wats. as influenced by harvesting at different phenological stages

Summary: The study aimed to optimize the harvesting stage of palmarosa for better yields of essential oil, geraniol, and geranyl acetate. Experimental results showed that harvesting at the bolting stage resulted in the highest survival rate and yields of essential oil components. The traditional practice of harvesting at 100% flowering stage should be discontinued in favor of harvesting at the bolting stage.
