A new biosource for synthesis of activated carbon and its potential use for removal of methylene blue and eriochrome black T from aqueous solutions

Javed Ali et al.

Summary: In this study, activated carbon was prepared from Datura metel seeds and used as a bioadsorbent for the removal of cationic and anionic dyes. The results showed that the adsorption of methylene blue and Eriochrome black T was significantly enhanced with rising concentration and agitation speed, while decreased with temperature rise, with the best adsorption at 10 degrees C.

Adsorption, kinetics and thermodynamics studies of methyl orange dye sequestration through chitosan composites films

Shah Hussain et al.

Summary: Different films containing pure chitosan and chitosan-coated zeolites were used for the sequestration of methyl orange dye. Results showed that CSZ3 had the highest adsorption capacity while CSZ4 had the lowest. Various analysis methods such as multilayer adsorption and pseudo-second order kinetics were used to explore the adsorption kinetics, equilibrium, and thermodynamics of the dye.
