An integrated model of rolling force for extra-thick plate by combining theoretical model and neural network model

Shun Hu Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, the genetic algorithm was used to enhance the global searching ability of the BP model and establish a high-precision GA-BP model for predicting the rolling force of extrathick plate. An integrated model was obtained by combining a theoretical model and the established neural network model to solve the black box problem. The results showed that the integrated model had higher precision compared to the original BP model, making it suitable for process optimization.

Mechanism of lateral metal flow on residual stress distribution during hot strip rolling

Jianwei Zhao et al.

Summary: During hot strip rolling, lateral metal flow can reduce the risk of buckling deformation by changing the longitudinal residual stress. The self-correcting effect of lateral metal flow on residual stress was confirmed through experiments, indicating that metals tend to flow towards the direction helping reduce the maximum residual compressive stress.

Summary: The study focuses on the transverse temperature uniformity during endless strip production rolling using transverse flux induction heating. A coupled electromagnetic-thermal finite element model is established to investigate the influence of magnetic screens on temperature uniformity. The results show that an optimized combination of magnetic shielding amounts can enhance temperature uniformity in the process.
