MHD mixed convection and irreversibility analysis of hybrid nanofluids in a partially heated lid-driven cavity chamfered from the bottom side

Zakaria Korei et al.

Summary: In this study, the magneto-convection flow in a cavity driven by the lid was investigated using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques. The numerical findings were validated and it was found that the magnetic field orientation, corners radius, and nanoparticle concentration have significant effects on the flow and heat transfer.

Summary: This study investigates heat transmission and stable mixed convective flow in a ventilated porous enclosed space with a heated elliptic inner cylinder filled with MWCNT/CMC nanofluid. The numerical findings show that the average Nusselt number increases with higher Richardson number and porosity ratio.

Magneto-bioconvection flow of hybrid nanofluid in the presence of oxytactic bacteria in a lid-driven cavity with a streamlined obstacle

Shafqat Hussain et al.

Summary: This work investigates the impact of magnetic force on the bioconvection flow of a hybrid nano-liquid containing silver, magnesium oxide, and water in a porous cavity. The study uses the Galerkin finite element method to analyze the flow structure, heat transfer, and mass transport under different controlling parameters. The results show that the size of the obstacle has opposite effects on heat and mass transfer.

Modelling convective transport of hybrid nanofluid in a lid driven square cavity with consideration of Brownian diffusion and thermophoresis

Sohail Ahmed et al.

Summary: Previously, the use of homogenous models in the study of hybrid nanofluids was common. However, these models had a serious issue where the heat transfer coefficients obtained did not match the experimental results. To address this, a new hybrid nanofluid model was developed based on the major slip mechanisms caused by Brownian diffusion and thermophoresis. The accuracy and validity of this model were demonstrated by studying the flow and heat transfer of a hybrid nanofluid in a lid driven square cavity filled with porous medium.

Numerical investigation of double-diffusive mixed convection in a split lid-driven curvilinear cavity

Mohammed Azeez Alomari et al.

Summary: This paper numerically studied the double-diffusive mixed convection of MWCNT/water in a curvilinear cavity with split lid-driven and hot ellipses. The heat and mass transfers were found to be greatly enhanced with the increase of Reynolds number in the case of low Richardson number. However, the effect of Reynolds number becomes unnoticeable with a high Richardson number. Furthermore, Lewis number has a positive effect on heat and mass transfer, and this effect increases with increasing Richardson number.

Impact of two-phase hybrid nanofluid approach on mixed convection inside wavy lid-driven cavity having localized solid block

Ammar I. Alsabery et al.

Summary: The study investigates the influence of a two-phase hybrid nanofluid approach on mixed convection characteristics, considering factors such as nanoparticle migration and the presence of solid obstacles. The analysis of non-dimensional parameters using the finite element technique reveals that temperature gradient can lead to significant concentration variations within the enclosure.

Effect of non-Newtonian fluid rheology on an arterial bypass graft: A numerical investigation guided by constructal design

R. F. Dutra et al.

Summary: This study focused on the use of Newtonian and non-Newtonian models to represent blood in post-operative scenarios of arterial graft surgeries, and investigated the effects of rheology on flow dynamics and system performance. The results demonstrated that rheological parameters had a significant impact on pressure drop, recirculation zones, and wall shear stress. Rheology played an important role in predicting recirculation zones that were not captured by a Newtonian model.

Constructal design of different ribs for thermo-fluid performance enhancement of a solar air heater (SAH)

Ashok K. Barik et al.

Summary: In this study, the constructal theory was utilized to develop six new types of ribs for a solar air heater, and their performance was numerically investigated using computational fluid dynamics. It was found that the T-rib showed the highest Nusselt number and lowest friction factor among all considered ribs, leading to enhanced heat transfer efficiency in the solar air heater.
