Enhanced electrochemical properties of zinc and manganese co-doped NiO nanostructures for its high-performance supercapacitor applications

Nazir Ahmad Mala et al.

Summary: In this report, Zn and Mn co-doped NiO nanostructures were successfully prepared with improved electrochemical performance. The co-doped nanostructures exhibited enhanced specific capacitance and power density, making them a promising candidate for high-performance supercapacitors by improving the availability of ions in the electrodes for charge storage and rate performance.

State of charge estimation of supercapacitors based on multi-innovation unscented Kalman filter under a wide temperature range

Yonghong Xu et al.

Summary: A novel multi-innovation unscented Kalman filter algorithm based on a fractional-order model is proposed in this study to improve the accuracy of supercapacitors' state of charge (SOC) estimation. Experimental results show the superior performance of the proposed algorithm compared to others.

Isolated Ni atoms induced edge stabilities and equilibrium shapes of CVD-prepared hexagonal boron nitride on the Ni(111) surface

Hongxia Zhu et al.

Summary: The stability of h-BN edges terminated by isolated Ni atoms on the Ni(111) surface was investigated, and it was found that most edges terminated by isolated Ni atoms have lower energies and the zigzag edge terminated with nitrogen atoms (ZZN) is the most stable one. Based on these results and Wulff construction theory, the equilibrium morphology of h-BN domains in different environments was predicted. The understanding of the stability of h-BN edges is crucial for revealing its growth mechanism and has implications for the synthesis of other two-dimensional binary materials.

Carbon black/SnSe composite: a low-cost, high performance counter electrode for dye sensitized solar cells

Ahmad Zatirostami

Summary: An alternative composite counter electrode (CE) based on carbon black and thin selenide materials was proposed in this study to replace the traditional expensive platinum CE in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). Experimental results showed that the composite CE could achieve comparable performance to platinum CEs in DSSCs.
