Structure-property relationships in normal and mixed dithienylethenes - polyoxometalates supramolecular assemblies with fast solid-state photochromic properties

Oleh Stetsiuk et al.

Summary: This study successfully prepared five new highly photochromic hybrid organic-inorganic materials through supramolecular assembly, with specific structural features revealed through X-ray diffraction studies. The photochromic properties of these materials at room temperature are highly tunable, partly due to the influence of steric and electronic factors. Particularly, mixed DTEs show faster fading processes.
