How does tautomerization affect the excited-state dynamics of an amino acid-derivatized corrole?

John A. Clark et al.

Summary: Corroles have emerged as an important class of porphyrinoids in photonics and biomedical photonics in the first two decades of the XXI century. Compared to porphyrins, corroles have unique properties due to lower molecular symmetry and higher electron density. The excited-state tautomerization dynamics in corroles can strongly affect photoinduced processes, potentially influencing the kinetics of charge transfer and energy transfer in systems for artificial photosynthesis and energy conversion.
