Effects of photobiomodulation therapy with red LED on inflammatory cells during the healing of skin burns

Thamyres Maria Silva Simoes et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the effects of red light emitting diode (LED) photobiomodulation therapy on inflammatory cells during the healing of third-degree skin burns. The results showed that red LED could modulate the number of inflammatory cells in the early stages of healing, but may not be effective in reducing the number of inflammatory cells in the advanced stages of the repair process.

Excited-State Engineering in Heteroleptic Ionic Iridium(III) Complexes

Filippo Monti et al.

Summary: Iridium(III) complexes play a significant role in photochemistry and photophysics due to their stability and emissive properties. The heavy-atom effect of iridium promotes singlet-triplet transitions, with the complexes exhibiting metal-centered, ligand-centered, or charge transfer properties in the excited state. The design of ligands allows for fine tuning of the electronic properties, making iridium(III) complexes a valuable tool in optoelectronic devices.

Near-infrared emitting iridium complexes: Molecular design, photophysical properties, and related applications

Yanxin Zhang et al.

Summary: Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) with phosphorescent iridium(III) complexes as emitters have high luminous efficiency but still underperform in the near-infrared (NIR) region. This review explores the potential for NIR emission of iridium complexes and summarizes recent advances in design strategies and structure-properties relationship for NIR-emitting iridium complexes. Promising applications in NIR-OLEDs and bio-imaging based on NIR Ir(III) complexes are discussed alongside the challenges and opportunities in this field.

Red to near-infrared phosphorescent Ir(iii) complexes with electron-rich chelating ligands

Sungwon Yoon et al.

Summary: This article discusses advances in the design of molecular phosphors that phosphoresce in the red to near-infrared regions, focusing on cyclometalated iridium complexes. The introduction of electron-rich, nitrogen-containing ancillary ligands has allowed for record-breaking phosphorescence quantum yields. The study covers insights gained on the relationships between molecular structure, frontier orbital energies, and excited-state dynamics across three distinct regions of the spectrum.
