Influence of calcination temperature on the evolution of Fe species over Fe-SSZ-13 catalyst for the NH3-SCR of NO

Qian Liu et al.

Summary: The effect of catalyst calcination temperature on the catalytic properties of Fe-SSZ-13 was investigated. Low calcination temperature maintained isolated Fe3+ ions and improved low-temperature activity, while high calcination temperature resulted in aggregation of Fe3+ ions and enhanced high-temperature activity. Different active species and acid sites are required for low and high-temperature reactions in Fe-SSZ-13 catalyst.

Fabrication of Cu2S hollow nanocages with enhanced high-temperature adsorption activity and recyclability for elemental mercury capture

Longlong Wang et al.

Summary: Transition metal sulfides have attracted attention in nonferrous smelting industries for capturing elemental mercury (Hg-0) due to their high activity, low cost, and resistance to SO2. Hollow Cu2S nanocages were fabricated using Cu2O crystals as sacrificial templates, showing enhanced high-temperature adsorption activity for Hg-0 and outstanding recyclability without additional reactivation treatment. The study provides a promising adsorbent for Hg-0 capture at high temperature and opens a new field for designing hollow-structured materials for environmental applications.

Effects of synthesis methods on the physicochemical properties and Hg0 capture capability of MnO2-CeO2 mixed oxides

Dong Ye et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of different synthesis methods on the physicochemical properties and Hg-0 capture capability of MnO2-CeO2 mixed oxides. Samples prepared using co-precipitation and ethylene glycol-assisted solvothermal method showed a decrease in Hg-0 removal efficiency with increasing temperature, while the adsorbent synthesized using hydrothermal method exhibited higher Hg-0 removal efficiency at lower temperatures. The presence of abundant surface acid sites promoted the physisorption of Hg-0 and facilitated the oxidation step, leading to enhanced high-temperature Hg-0 adsorption capability for the adsorbent prepared via ethylene glycol-assisted solvothermal method.

Improvement in the Hg0 removal performance of CeO2 by modifying with CuO

Dong Ye et al.

Summary: A CuO-modified CeO2 material was synthesized using sol-gel and wet-impregnation methods for Hg-0 removal, increasing efficiency but inhibited by the presence of SO2. CeO2 acted as a catalyst-like substance in Hg-0 removal, while CuO/CeO2 showed improved Hg-0 removal performance.

Amine-impregnated silica zeolite from microalgae ash at different calcination temperatures for CO2 capture

Cui Quan et al.

Summary: Microalgae ash was converted into MCM41, and the impact of calcination temperature and PEI loading amount on CO2 capture capacity was investigated. The optimal material was found to be MCM41 calcined at 450 degrees C, with increasing CO2 adsorption capacity as PEI loading amount increased.

Relationship between Hg0 capture performance and physicochemical properties of CeO2-CrOx mixed oxides

Dong Ye et al.

Summary: By adding CrOx to CeO2, the removal performance of Hg-0 can be improved. The sample with a Ce/Cr molar ratio of 3/1 exhibited the best performance, with approximately 90% Hg-0 removal efficiency achieved at 150 degrees C. CeO2-CrOx mixed oxide has a larger specific surface area and abundant acid sites and reactive oxygen species, which facilitate the physisorption and oxidation of Hg0.

Facile fabrication of flower-like MnO2 hollow microspheres as high-performance catalysts for toluene oxidation

Wenxiu Gu et al.

Summary: A facile and robust interface reaction method was developed for the controllable synthesis of hierarchically structured flower-like MnO2 hollow microspheres at a low cost. The as-prepared flower-like MnO2 hollow microspheres exhibited excellent low-temperature catalytic activity for toluene oxidation due to their high specific surface area, abundant oxygen vacancies, high content of Mn4+, numerous acidic sites, and strong acidity. This work provides a new strategy for the facile construction of high-performance volatile organic compounds oxidation catalysts with industrial application prospects.
