How the CMC adjust the liquid mixture density and viscosity of non-ionic surfactants at various temperatures?

Azam Shadloo et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the critical micelle concentration (CMC) and the relationship between micellization parameters, thermodynamic properties, and temperature for non-ionic surfactants. The results show that the CMC occurs at the minimum points of the measured thermodynamic properties.

Influence of Temperature and Concentration on the Self-Assembly of Nonionic CiEj Surfactants: A Light Scattering Study

Peter Kroll et al.

Summary: This study investigated the self-assembly of different types of CiEj surfactants by measuring their critical micelle concentration (CMC), aggregation number, and hydrodynamic radius. The results showed that temperature, surfactant concentration, and molecular structure all influenced the self-assembly of the surfactants, affecting their sizes and shapes.

Investigation of the aggregation, clouding and thermodynamics of the mixture of sodium alginate with sodium dodecyl sulfate and triton X-100 in aqueous and aqua-organic mixed solvents media

Malik Abdul Rub et al.

Summary: This study investigates the aggregation, phase separation, and binding behavior of a mixture of sodium alginate (SA) and surfactants (anionic SDS and nonionic TX-100) in aqueous and aqua-organic mixed solvents. Various physico-chemical parameters were determined, including critical micelle concentration (CMC), extent of bound counter ions, cloud point (CP), binding constant (K-b), thermodynamic properties, and transfer parameters. The results show that the addition of SA facilitates SDS micellization and the CMC of the SA + SDS mixtures depends on SA concentration, composition of mixed solvents, and temperature. The values of counterion binding and CP are influenced by the concentration of SA and other organic additives, as well as the solvent media.

Influence of NaCl and temperature on the interaction between cephradine monohydrate and surfactants: Conductivity and UV-visible measurements

Md Anamul Hoque et al.

Summary: This study investigated the interaction of a drug with surfactants in body fluid ingredients medium using conductivity and UV-visible spectroscopic techniques. The addition of NaCl was found to promote micellization of the systems and the critical micelle concentration was influenced by experimental temperature. The binding between the drug and surfactants was thermodynamically spontaneous, with an increase in binding constant observed with higher drug concentration and temperature.

Investigation of aggregation behavior of ionic surfactant mixture in crystal violet dye solution at different temperatures and solvent compositions: Conductivity and theoretical approach

Md Limon Rahman et al.

Summary: The conductometric measurement technique was used to study the aggregation behavior of a mixture of two ionic surfactants in different solution media, revealing that the presence of CV dye favors micellization. The cmc values of the mixture decrease with increasing CTAB concentration, indicating an attractive interaction between SDS and CTAB surfactants in the presence of CV dye.

Vesicle formation of single-chain amphiphilic 4-dodecylbenzene sulfonic acid in water and micelle-to-vesicle transition induced by wet-dry cycles

Meihua Gao et al.

Summary: The aggregation behavior of 4-dodecylbenzene sulfonic acid (DBSA) in water was investigated, revealing a micelle-to-vesicle transition driven by increased concentration. The DBSA vesicles exhibit stability, size-selective permeability, and can increase in size and form multilamellar vesicles during wet-dry cycles. Wet-dry cycles induce structural transitions in the DBSA vesicles and have a significant impact on their properties.
