Robust adaptive algorithms for fast principal component analysis

Zineb Bekhtaoui et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the robust estimation of the principal eigenvectors of multivariate observations in an adaptive scheme. It aims to develop fast adaptive methods for Principal Component Analysis (PCA) under impulsive noise, outliers, or missing data scenarios. Various low complexity algorithms are introduced for estimation and tracking of the desired principal components in these scenarios, and their effectiveness is evaluated through simulation experiments and comparative study.

Recent Studies on Massive MIMO Technologies for 5G Evolution and 6G

Satoshi Suyama et al.

Summary: This paper introduces the application of M-MIMO technology in 5GE and 6G, as well as the experimental and simulation results. 5GE utilizes advanced beamforming and base station cooperation technologies to achieve more stable and higher-speed mmW transmission. On the other hand, 6G requires higher data rates and has attracted attention to sub-terahertz wave frequencies.

MIMO Evolution toward 6G: Modular Massive MIMO in Low-Frequency Bands

Jeongho Jeon et al.

Summary: The article introduces mmMIMO as a candidate technology for 6G communication to improve spectral efficiency in low-frequency bands. While technical advances in 5G for low-frequency bands are limited, mmMIMO technology can achieve the benefits of massive MIMO in low-frequency bands to serve a large number of users in a wide coverage area.

Impact of Pilot Overhead and Channel Estimation on the Performance of Massive MIMO

Atchutaram K. Kocharlakota et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the impact of additional pilot overhead on covariance matrix estimation in a TDD massive MIMO system. Closed form expressions for spectral efficiencies with different channel estimation methods are derived, and a detailed theoretical analysis and simulations are presented to validate the findings.

Semi-blind Channel Estimation and Data Detection for Time-Varying Massive MIMO System

Mort Naraghi-Pour et al.

Summary: A semi-blind algorithm based on expectation propagation (EP) is proposed for multi-cell massive MIMO systems with spatially and temporally correlated channels. The algorithm's performance in channel estimation and data detection is obtained from simulations and compared to other approaches. Results show that the proposed method approaches a lower bound in channel estimation performance with only K pilots, where K is the number of users in the cell, as the number of BS antennas or the number of data symbols per frame increase. As expected, the proposed algorithm outperforms those designed for block-fading channel models in time-varying channels.
