Evolution of NOMA Toward Next Generation Multiple Access (NGMA) for 6G

Yuanwei Liu et al.

Summary: Due to the growth in wireless devices and services, next generation wireless networks face unprecedented challenges. Advanced multiple access schemes, particularly non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), are being explored as a solution. This paper discusses the evolution of next generation multiple access (NGMA) and the potential techniques and mathematical tools involved.

Rate-Splitting for the Weighted Sum Rate Maximization under Minimum Rate Constraints in the MIMO BC

Christoph Kaulich et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the weighted sum rate maximization problem with minimum rate constraints in the multi-user multiple-input multiple-output broadcast channel, using the 1-layer rate-splitting (1l-RS) approach and adapting the iterative weighted minimum mean squared error (IWMMSE) method for optimization. Numerical simulations show that the proposed 1l-RS approaches can satisfy much larger minimum rate constraints compared to pure multicasting, and the computational complexity of the two 1l-RS approaches is also compared.

Successive Null-Space Precoder Design for Downlink MU-MIMO with Rate Splitting and Single-Stage SIC

Aravindh Krishnamoorthy et al.

Summary: This paper discusses a precoder design for under-loaded or critically loaded downlink multi-user MIMO systems, proposing novel precoding and decoding schemes to enhance system performance. The proposed SNS precoding scheme effectively reduces inter-user interference and outperforms other designs, coming close in performance to dirty paper coding in many cases.

Precoder Design and Statistical Power Allocation for MIMO-NOMA via User-Assisted Simultaneous Diagonalization

Aravindh Krishnamoorthy et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the downlink precoder design for the two-user power-domain MIMO-NOMA system, proposing a novel UA-SD MIMO-NOMA scheme that achieves SD of MIMO channels and reduces decoding complexity. Simulation results show significant performance improvement in the achievable ergodic rate region.
