Partial Power Processing for Power Decoupling Network in Three-Phase Three-Leg Four-Wire Three-Level T-Type Inverter With Reduced Split DC-Bus Capacitance

Li Zhang et al.

Summary: This article presents the embedding of a power decoupling network (PDN) in a 3P3L4W 3L inverter to reduce the split dc-bus capacitance. Partial power processing is proposed to bypass the neutral current and the midpoint current, reducing the dc-bus capacitance at the expense of affordable power losses. An Efficient Model Predictive Control Using Virtual Voltage Vectors for Three-Phase Three-Level Converters With Constant Switching Frequency

Yong Yang et al.

Summary: This article proposes an efficient model predictive control (MPC) using virtual voltage vectors for three-phase three-level converters. The proposed MPC achieves constant switching frequency by applying four voltage vectors, including one virtual voltage vector and three other voltage vectors, in each control cycle. To reduce the computational burden, a two-stage MPC approach is adopted.

Guangjun Tan et al.

Summary: This article applies 3-D unbalanced coordinate transformation to a four-leg inverter that provides power to asymmetric loads, in order to maintain balance of the output capacitor voltages and achieve simpler control structure and better control performance. A double closed-loop PI control structure is designed based on Clarke and Park transformations, and the phases and amplitudes of the capacitor voltages are locked using the 3-D unbalanced coordinate transformation. Simulation and experimental results are provided to confirm the feasibility and effectiveness of this approach.

A Fast-Processing Predictive Control Strategy for Common-Mode Voltage Reduction in Parallel Three-Level Inverters

Xiangyang Xing et al.

Summary: Model predictive control (MPC) is an attractive control scheme for multilevel converters, but suffers from high computational burden and tedious tuning of weighting factors, especially for parallel three-level inverters. A fast-processing predictive control strategy proposed in this article aims to reduce zero-sequence circulating current (ZSCC), NP voltage imbalance, and CMV in parallel three-level inverters by selecting candidate vectors and optimizing the switching vector based on the reference voltage vector in the selected sector. The proposed method eliminates the need for weighting factors and reduces the computational burden associated with predictive control for inverters, as shown by simulation and experimental results.
