An Integrated EMI Choke With Improved DM Inductance

Javad Borsalani et al.

Summary: This article presents a new integrated choke with a specific winding structure, which can independently increase the DM inductance through coil design, while the CM inductance value remains almost constant compared to conventional chokes. Theoretical analysis for modeling the choke and prediction of inductances and saturation conditions are provided, with experimental measurements validating the analysis and demonstrating good filtering performance in rejecting conducted noise from an induction motor drive system while decreasing the overall filter size.
