Multi-Criteria Analysis in the Decision-Making Approach for the Linear Ordering of Urban Transport Based on TOPSIS Technique

Slawomira Hajduk

Summary: The effects of urban transport are a matter of great concern, particularly the rapid urbanization and motorization in smart cities that have significant impacts on sustainability. This paper presents an overview of research works published between 1991 and 2020 on urban transport and multi-criteria decision making, highlighting the importance of decision-making criteria and their weight.

Intolerance predicts climate skepticism

Alva Johansson et al.

Summary: This study investigates the basis of climate skepticism by examining the role of intolerance. The research shows a link between intolerance based on race, ethnicity, immigration status, religion or sexual orientation and climate skepticism. The findings also suggest that increasing intolerance leads to decreased concern about the consequences of climate change.

Game theory-based models in green supply chain management: a review of the literature

Maher A. N. Agi et al.

Summary: The paper presents a systematic review and analysis of game-theory-based research in Green Supply Chains Management (GSCM), highlighting a rapid increase in publications with an imbalance in contribution from publishing outlets. Current research predominantly focuses on deterministic static models and simple two-level SC structures, pointing towards future opportunities in developing stochastic models and exploring more complex multi-level SC structures.

Were traffic restrictions in Madrid effective at reducing NO2 levels?

Rafael Salas et al.

Summary: The implementation of Madrid Central, a low-emission zone, has effectively reduced NO2 emissions in the city center, as found through monitoring at Plaza del Carmen. Monitoring stations near the LEZ also saw significant reductions in NO2 levels, indicating a positive spillover effect. This suggests that the introduction of the LEZ led to changes in transportation habits among Madrid citizens rather than transferring pollution to other nearby areas.

Economic, Social, and Ecological Impact Evaluation of Traffic Network in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Urban Agglomeration Based on the Entropy Weight TOPSIS Method

Liang Zhang et al.

Summary: The study establishes an evaluation index system for the ESE effects of the transportation network in the BTH urban agglomeration, analyzing the impacts from 2013 to 2017 using the entropy weight TOPSIS model and the Jenks natural breaks classification method. The research finds that there are fluctuating trends in the economic impact, increasing trends in the social impact, and decreasing trends in the ecological impact of the transportation network. Most cities in the BTH show improvement in their ESE impact assessment results from 2013 to 2017, but cities in transition still require attention for achieving ESE coordination and sustainable development.

Public Acceptability of Low Emission Zones: The Case of Madrid Central

Javier Tarrino-Ortiz et al.

Summary: The study found that socio-economic and demographic variables have a weak impact on public acceptability of LEZs, while individual political ideology, environmental awareness, primary transport mode, use of shared mobility systems, and frequency of access to LEZs have a higher explanatory power. This information could be useful for policymakers to understand factors that increase public acceptability of LEZs.
