Melanie de Looper et al.

Summary: The study found that younger, higher educated patients, those with a monitoring coping style, and patients who experienced more cancer-related stress tended to engage more in online health information seeking. Online health information seeking positively influenced patient participation, specifically through the patient's absolute word count, but did not have a direct impact on anxiety and recall. Instead, patient satisfaction with the consultation was found to be mediated by the patient's absolute word count.
