Effects of a Nurse-Led Telehealth Self-care Promotion Program on the Quality of Life of Community-Dwelling Older Adults: Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

Summary: This review summarizes the findings from randomized controlled trials on the effect of nurse-led telehealth self-care promotion programs on the quality of life, self-efficacy, depression, and hospital admissions among community-dwelling older adults. The results indicate that compared with usual on-site or face-to-face services, telehealth interventions led by nurses significantly improve overall quality of life, self-efficacy, and depression level in older adults.

Feasibility of an online training and support program for dementia carers: results from a mixed-methods pilot randomized controlled trial

Effects of telehealth intervention for people with dementia and their carers: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled studies

Summary: This study systematically examined the impact and effectiveness of telehealth-delivered psychoeducational and behavioral interventions among persons with dementia and their caregivers. The findings suggest that telehealth interventions can reduce depression among persons diagnosed with dementia while improving caregivers' perceived competency. However, no statistically significant effects were observed on cognitive function or various aspects of quality of life for the subjects.

Factors associated with caregiving self-efficacy among primary informal caregivers of persons with dementia in Singapore

Informal Dementia Caregivers: Current Technology Use and Acceptance of Technology in Care

Summary: The study surveyed 102 dementia caregivers, primarily caring for patients with moderate dementia, finding that most caregivers were women who used smartphones and computers. The results showed that age, gender, and education level impacted technology acceptance, with smartphone use and acceptance appearing feasible regardless of age, while computer use was negatively correlated with age. Respondents perceived technology as most useful for patients' activities like locomotion, toileting, and meals.
