Physical properties of carbon nanowalls synthesized by the ICP-PECVD method vs. the growth time

Yerassyl Yerlanuly et al.

Summary: This study investigates the physical properties of carbon nanowall (CNW) films in relation to growth time, revealing that shorter growth time results in thin films with a densely spaced labyrinth structure, while longer growth time leads to thick films with a petal structure. These changes in morphology further impact the structural, optical, and electrical properties of CNW.

An efficient strategy for transferring carbon nanowalls film to flexible substrate for supercapacitor application

Engy Ghoniem et al.

Summary: This paper presents a facile and efficient strategy for transferring CNWs film grown on SiO2/Si substrate to flexible ITO-PEN substrate, demonstrating the feasibility of the proposed transfer method through morpho-structural characterization techniques. The transferred carbon nanowalls film successfully maintains most features of the as-grown CNWs while achieving a wrinkle-free and crack-free film. Furthermore, the potential performance of MnO2/TCNWs hybrid film as electrodes in energy storage applications is explored, showing high areal capacitance and excellent capacitance retention properties.

Room Temperature Gas Sensor Application of Carbon Nanowalls using Electrical Resistance Change by Surface Adsorption of Toxic Gases

Seokhun Kwon et al.

Summary: Carbon nanowalls, based on carbon with vertical porous nanostructure, offer broad sensing surface area and function as gas sensing layer. Compared to ammonia, the carbon nanowalls-based gas sensor exhibited better performance in nitrogen dioxide, likely due to greater charge transfer and higher electron affinity of nitrogen dioxide.
