Study of combustion and NO chemical reaction mechanism in ammonia blended with DME

Xiangyu Meng et al.

Summary: This study developed a detailed chemical reaction mechanism and investigated the combustion and emission mechanism for NH3/DME dual-fuel combustion. It was found that fuel NOx still dominates the total NOx production in NH3/DME combustion, and DME addition promotes the NO formation reaction.

Ge Xiao et al.

Summary: In this study, the regeneration characteristics of CDPF through O-2 and NO2 in plateau environment were investigated by measurement and simulation analysis at different altitudes. The results show that regeneration balance can only be achieved under certain conditions, and the exhaust temperature and the mass ratio of NOx to PM are the dominant factors affecting the regeneration efficiency.

A new shift mechanism for micro-explosion of water-diesel emulsion droplets at different ambient temperatures

Zhaowen Wang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the evaporation characteristics of water emulsified diesel droplets at different ambient temperatures using droplet suspension technology. The results showed that the evaporation process mainly consisted of three stages and was significantly influenced by the ambient temperature. Additionally, the study proposed a new mechanism of micro-explosion shift by correlating bubble formation and micro-explosion in water emulsified diesel droplets.

Influence of micron-sized aluminum particles on micro-explosion and combustion characteristics of ethanol-biodiesel droplets under co-heat flow

Zhicong Qiu et al.

Summary: This experiment studied the micro-explosion and combustion characteristics of ethanol-biodiesel mixed droplets with different aluminum powder particle contents and particle sizes. The results showed that increasing the particle size of aluminum powder promotes micro-explosion. The effect of increasing aluminum powder content on the heating time of the droplet varies with the particle size of the aluminum powder. Increasing the amount of aluminum powder also extends the full life of the droplets.

A simple model for breakup time prediction of water-heavy fuel oil emulsion droplets

Stavros Fostiropoulos et al.

Summary: The behavior of W/HFO emulsion droplets inside combustion chambers undergoing explosive boiling and fragmentation was studied using a CFD model. The model accurately predicts the breakup time of the emulsion droplets, which can be split into two distinct stages involving heating and vapor bubble formation followed by vapor bubble growth leading to droplet breakup. The fitting parameters of the model are found to be accurate within a certain range of pressure, temperature, depth of water droplets, and Weber number.

Experimental study on the evaporation characteristics of biodiesel-ABE blended droplets

Kai Han et al.

Summary: The study found that at a certain temperature range, higher ABE content led to increased micro-explosion intensity and fluctuation delay time of the blended droplets. However, the optimal ABE content for the best evaporation performance was found to be between 40% and 60%. The equivalent evaporation rate of the biodiesel-ABE blended droplets increased with ABE content but decreased with temperature.

Study of the bubble collapse mechanism and its influencing factors on stability under ultra-low surface tension

Bin Huang et al.

Summary: A foam stability model was established to analyze the flow rate, pressure, and gas-liquid phase distribution during the foam crushing process, with an improved evaluation method. Results showed that foam collapsing is mainly affected by energy release and high internal pressure. Liquid film velocity fluctuates before collapse, and higher surfactant concentration in liquid phase improves stability due to lower surface tension. Foam stability can be further analyzed by studying liquid phase volume fraction and bubble characteristics.
