Cooling capacity optimization of hydrocarbon fuels for regenerative cooling

Jiao Wang et al.

Summary: The study proposes a method to increase the regenerative cooling capacity by considering both physical and chemical heat sinks, and effectively improves the cooling capacity of hydrocarbon fuels through optimization of working conditions, chemical kinetics, and chemical routes. By carefully analyzing the synergies among various factors, it is possible to achieve significant enhancements in heat management for hypersonic vehicles.

Surface coke deposition influences on flow and heat transfer of hydrocarbon fuel in circular tubes with twisted-tape inserts

Xiang Cheng et al.

Summary: This experiment investigated the influence of surface coke deposition on the flow and heat transfer of hydrocarbon fuel in circular tubes with twisted-tape inserts under supercritical pressures. The results showed that the use of twisted-tape inserts improved heat transfer, reduced coke deposition, and proposed a well-predicted correlation of the Nusselt number.
