Duplex loop-mediated isothermal amplification assay for peanut (Arachis hypogaea) and almond (Prunus dulcis) detection of allergen coding genes

Hong-Rae Kim et al.

Summary: This study developed a method to simultaneously detect peanut and almond using duplex LAMP and melting curve analysis, which can verify the specificity and has a low detection limit. The method is applicable to various plant materials and processed foods, and can contribute to the prevention of allergic accidents and food safety.

Detection of edible insect derived phospholipids with polyunsaturated fatty acids by thin-layer chromatography, gas chromatography, and enzymatic methods

Masaru Ochiai et al.

Summary: Research found that crickets had higher levels of choline-binding PLs compared to migratory locusts and silkworms; crickets were rich in n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids, while migratory locusts and silkworms were rich in n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids.

Clinical Significance of the D-Loop Gene Mutation in Mitochondrial DNA in Laryngeal Cancer

Lei Wang et al.

Summary: The study investigated the D-loop gene mutation and microsatellite instability in mtDNA in laryngeal cancer. Mutations were mainly concentrated in the HV I region, with single base substitutions, insertions, and deletions being the main types. Microsatellite instability was also found in the D310 region. Correlation analysis showed no significant relationship between age, gender, tumor diameter, TNM stage, and the number of D-loop mutations in mtDNA. The high-frequency D-loop gene mutations in mtDNA may play an important role in the pathogenesis of laryngeal cancer.
