Gold nanoparticles-based SERS nanosensor for thiram and chloramphenicol monitoring in food samples: Insight into effects of analyte molecular structure on their sensing performance and signal enhancement

Nguyen Ha Anh et al.

Summary: Electrochemically synthesized gold nanoparticles were used to fabricate surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy sensors for monitoring thiram and CAP in food samples. The SERS performance of the sensors was closely associated with the molecular structure of the analytes, and the adsorption abilities of the analytes on the nanoparticles surface and in the nano-gaps were studied. Thiram showed better adsorption ability than CAP due to its sulfur-containing structure and smaller steric hindrance.

A Dual-Modal Single-Antibody Plasmonic Spectro-Immunoassay for Detection of Small Molecules

Peng Zheng et al.

Summary: Small molecules play a crucial role in physiological regulation and pathological diagnosis, but their detection is challenging. Plasmonic immunoassays based on SERS offer high sensitivity, but are limited by intensity fluctuations and false signals. To overcome these issues, a dual-modal single-antibody approach (INSPIRE) is proposed for small molecule detection, which enables better concentration prediction and reduction of signal artifacts.

Nakita K. Noel et al.

Summary: Perovskite-based optoelectronics, known for their simple fabrication processes and high device efficiencies, are on the path to commercialization. However, the use of toxic solvents in the production of perovskite precursor inks poses a potential obstacle. This study demonstrates the effectiveness of nonpolar organic solvents, such as toluene, combined with butylamine as a solvent for alkylammonium-based perovskite inks. This finding opens up possibilities for blending perovskite inks with previously incompatible materials, enabling new opportunities for efficient photovoltaics, light-emitting diodes, and other semiconductor devices.
