Identification of Novel Nonapeptides from Sipunculus nudus L. and Comparing Its ACEI Activities Mechanism by Molecular Docking

Yi Qi et al.

Summary: In this study, two novel nonapeptides were isolated and purified from the hydrolysates of the sea food Sipunculus nudus L. The peptides exhibited ACE inhibitory activity and served as non-competitive ACE inhibitors. Molecular docking study showed that these peptides interacted with the active site of ACE mainly through hydrogen bonding and electrostatic force. It is suggested that S. nudus may be a valuable raw material for the production of antihypertensive peptides in functional foods.

Recent advances in MEMS mass spectrometers

Yu-Peng Cheng et al.

Summary: Miniature mass spectrometers have developed rapidly in the past two decades due to the continuous growth in on-site detection requirements. However, further miniaturization of mass spectrometers has faced limitations with the traditional processing technologies. MEMS (micro-electro mechanical systems) technology provides new solutions for the next generation of miniature mass spectrometers. Over the past three decades, key components of mass spectrometers, such as ion sources and detectors, have been successfully microfabricated. The development of MEMS mass spectrometers is prepared for even faster growth. This article reviews the latest progress, potential applications, existing problems, challenges, and future trends of MEMS mass spectrometers.
