Revisiting the Evidence Base for Modern-Day Practice of the Treatment of Toxoplasmic Encephalitis: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Connor Prosty et al.

Summary: This study reviewed the efficacy and safety of pyrimethamine-containing therapies versus TMP-SMX in the treatment of toxoplasmic encephalitis. The results showed that TMP-SMX is as effective and safer than pyrimethamine-containing regimens, with lower rates of treatment discontinuation due to toxicity.

Very-Rapidly Dissolving Printlets of Isoniazid Manufactured by SLS 3D Printing: In Vitro and In Vivo Characterization

Tahir Khuroo et al.

Summary: The focus of this research was to investigate the effects of formulation and processing variables on the rapid dissolving printlets of isoniazid (INH) manufactured using selective laser sintering (SLS) 3D printing method. The results showed that the printlets had rapid disintegration and dissolution, and were stable with similar oral bioavailability as compressed tablets.

Diagnostic value of recombinant nanoluciferase fused Toxoplasma gondii antigens in Luciferase-linked Antibody Capture Assay (LACA) for Toxoplasma infection in pigs

Hieu Duc Duong et al.

Summary: Toxoplasmosis is a common zoonotic disease caused by Toxoplasma gondii, often transmitted through undercooked meat. A study evaluated recombinant nanoluciferase-fused T. gondii antigens for potential use in detecting Toxoplasma infection in pigs, finding a cocktail of antigens showed higher sensitivity compared to commercial ELISA kit with preserved quality in Rapid-LACA format.
