PV integrated grid synchronization technique using modified SOGI-FLL and zero-crossing detector

Hemant Saxena et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a hybrid algorithm for estimating synchronizing unit templates in grid-connected photovoltaic systems to improve power quality. The technique successfully minimizes total harmonic distortion in the synchronizing signal and has been verified through simulation and experimental studies. It has been applied to three-phase grid-connected solar PV systems for enhancing power quality.

Magnitude-squared Coherence: A Powerful Tool for Disentangling Doppler Planet Discoveries from Stellar Activity

Sarah E. Dodson-Robinson et al.

Summary: In this study, the authors demonstrate how to diagnose activity signals by calculating the magnitude-squared coherence between activity indicator time series and radial-velocity time series. Using Welch's method, they measure the coherence between activity indicators and RVs in archival observations of several stars. The results suggest that high coherence signals may be due to stellar activity rather than planetary signals.

Two-Dimensional Mean Adaptive Zero-Crossing Factor Weighted Ultrasound Plane Wave Imaging

Yuanhao Tan et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a two-dimensional mean adaptive zero-crossing factor (TMAZF) method to enhance the contrast ratio and resolution of images obtained through coherent plane-wave compounding (CPWC). The TMAZF method effectively suppresses noise and maintains the background speckle pattern. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate the superior performance of TMAZF compared to traditional CPWC methods.

Development of Acoustic Thermometer and Velocimeter with High Temporal Resolution and Noise Suppression Capability

Qi Liu et al.

Summary: This paper develops an acoustic thermometer and velocimeter with high temporal resolution and noise suppression capability, improving the temporal measurement resolution by 8.3% with the application of a new technique. The relative error of temperature and velocity measurements is less than 1% for the quadratic-convex frequency-driven sound source.

Development of Flue Gas Audio-Range Velocimeter Using Quadratic-Convex Frequency Sweeping

Qi Liu et al.

Summary: In this paper, a real-time flue gas audio-range velocimeter was developed and validated using a novel sonic driving mode, which shows higher measurement accuracy and robustness compared to traditional methods. The proposed sonic driving scheme significantly improves the accuracy and robustness of flue gas velocity measurement, as demonstrated through numerical analysis and in situ experiments.

Achieving a flat, wideband frequency response of a loudspeaker unit by numerical optimization with requirements on its directivity

Daniel G. Nielsen et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates significant improvement in the frequency response and directivity of a loudspeaker through optimizing the properties of the diaphragm and surround materials. By using an optimization technique and finite element model, the performance under different frequency and off-axis requirements is investigated. The results show that a completely flat on-axis response can be achieved even for broad frequency ranges, and a reasonably flat response over a wide directivity can also be obtained.
