Carbon dioxide absorption in packed bed of lithium orthosilicate pebbles

N. S. Ghuge et al.

Summary: In this study, lithium orthosilicate pebbles with excess lithium carbonate were synthesized and the effect of various process parameters on its CO2 absorption capacity was studied. The results showed that the pebbles had a CO2 absorption capacity of 31% for 30% CO2 concentration and 22% for 15% CO2 concentration at 400 degrees C and 200 LPH flowrate. Furthermore, the material exhibited no reduction in CO2 absorption capacity even after 135 consecutive absorption-desorption cycles.

Mass and heat transfer at a helical coil imbedded in a fixed bed of cylinders with upward cocurrent gas-liquid flow

M. A. El-Naggar et al.

Summary: This study measured the rates of mass and heat transfer on the surface of a helical coil embedded in a fixed bed of inert cylindrical packing under upward two-phase flow. The effects of geometrical and hydrodynamic parameters were taken into consideration, and the performance of cylindrical packing was compared with that of Raschig rings and spheres. The analogy between heat and mass transfer was discussed, highlighting the importance of the present study for the design and operation of heterogeneous reactors that require rapid cooling for highly exothermic reactions.

Effect of magnetic field and thermal radiation on natural convection in a square cavity filled with TiO2 nanoparticles using Tiwari-Das nanofluid model

P. Sreedevi et al.

Summary: A numerical investigation was conducted to study the natural convection heat transfer of TiO2-EG nanofluid inside a square cavity under the influence of a magnetic field and thermal radiation. The results showed that the magnetic field and radiation parameters have a significant effect on the temperature and heat transfer performance of the TiO2-EG nanofluid.

Effect of zero mass flux condition on heat and mass transfer analysis of nanofluid flow inside a cavity with magnetic field

P. Sudarsana Reddy et al.

Summary: This paper investigates steady natural convection of Buongiorno's model nanofluid flow in a square cavity with enhanced mass flux boundary condition numerically, taking into account magnetic field, Brownian motion, radiation, and thermophoresis. Results show a significant increase in heat transfer rate after suspending nanoparticles, and increasing thermophoresis and Brownian motion parameters enhances the Nusselt number inside the cavity.

Effect of magnetic field and radiation on heat transfer analysis of nanofluid inside a square cavity filled with silver nanoparticles: Tiwari-Das model

P. Sreedevi et al.

Summary: This study numerically examines the heat transfer and fluid flow characteristics of Tiwari-Das model water-silver-based radiative nanofluid inside a square cavity under the influence of a magnetic field. Graphs are used to illustrate the isotherms and streamlines of the nanofluid under different parameter values, while dimensionless Nusselt numbers are calculated and presented in terms of plots. Heat transfer rate increases from 6.3% to 12.4% when silver nanoparticles with a volume fraction of 0.05 are suspended in water.
