Ultra-Stable Phase Change Coatings by Self-Cross-Linkable Reactive Poly(ethylene glycol) and MWCNTs

Junshuo Cui et al.

Summary: PCM coatings based on reactive poly(ethylene glycol) have been developed for direct thermal energy exchange and storage, showing significant solid-solid phase transition properties and high energy storage densities. Addition of multi-walled carbon nanotubes into the coatings enhances high-temperature form stability and rapid thermal exchange properties, forming a cross-linked network between RPEG and MWCNTs. Thermal regulation clothes prepared by spray coating method exhibit good washing durability without performance deterioration after three washes.

Enhancing Weathering Resistance of Wood-A Review

Vlatka Jirous-Rajkovic et al.

Summary: Wood is a sustainable and aesthetically pleasant material for indoor and outdoor applications, but protecting it from weathering is crucial to maintaining its appearance and performance over time. Various methods, such as surface treatments, coatings, and chemical modifications, can help increase the weathering resistance of wood surfaces.

Properties of Pinus yunnanensis Modified with Silicon-Titanium Binary Oxides

Xiaoling Liu et al.

Summary: The modification of Pinus yunnanensis using SiO2-TiO2 via the sol-gel method aimed to improve hydrophobicity and photocatalytic degradation of the wood surface. While the modified wood exhibited increased hydrophobicity and photocatalytic activity, its durability needs improvement as water absorption and thickness swelling significantly increased. Additionally, the color change on the surface of the modified wood after UV-aging resistance testing was noticeably less compared to unmodified wood.
