Astragaloside IV suppresses migration and invasion of TGF-beta(1)-induced human hepatoma HuH-7 cells by regulating Nrf2/HO-1 and TGF-beta(1)/Smad3 pathways

Lili Li et al.

Summary: This study explores the inhibitory effects of AS-IV on migration and invasion of human hepatoma HuH-7 cells. The results show that AS-IV can achieve this by activating the Nrf2/HO-1 pathway, upregulating the pSmad3C/p21 pathway, and downregulating the pSmad3L/c-Myc pathway.

Roles of Nitric Oxide in Brain Ischemia and Reperfusion

Yijie Wang et al.

Summary: Brain ischemia and reperfusion (I/R) is a severe manifestation of ischemic stroke. Accumulating evidence suggests that nitric oxide (NO) plays a crucial role in the pathological processes of brain I/R, including neuronal cell death and blood-brain barrier disruption. This review focuses on the role of endogenous NO in brain I/R and discusses therapeutic approaches associated with NO.

Astragaloside IV alleviates silica-induced pulmonary fibrosis via inactivation of the TGF-β1/Smad2/3 signaling pathway

Nannan Li et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that ASV has anti-fibrotic effects in silicosis rats by reducing inflammation and oxidative stress, and inhibiting the TGF-beta 1/Smad signaling pathway. This suggests that ASV may prevent silicosis-induced fibrosis by regulating key pathways involved in the progression of pulmonary fibrosis.

Accelerated Bone Regeneration by Astragaloside IV through Stimulating the Coupling of Osteogenesis and Angiogenesis

Feng Wang et al.

Summary: Astragaloside IV (AS-IV) accelerates bone regeneration during distraction osteogenesis by enhancing osteogenesis and preosteoclast-induced angiogenesis simultaneously, partially through AKT/GSK-3 beta/beta-catenin signaling. These findings suggest that AS-IV may serve as a potential bioactive molecule for promoting the coupling of osteogenesis and angiogenesis, and imply that AKT/GSK-3 beta/beta-catenin signaling may be a promising therapeutic target for patients during distraction osteogenesis treatment.
