Kinetics characteristics and microwave reduction behavior of walnut shell-pyrolusite blends

Kangqiang Li et al.

Summary: The study shows that combining biomass pyrolysis with microwave heating technologies is an efficient way to reduce low-grade pyrolusite. The optimal reduction parameters include a reduction temperature of 650 degrees C, a holding time of 30 min, a M-bio/M-ore ratio of 1.8:10, and a microwave power of 1200 W.

Effects of Oxygen and Steam Equivalence Ratios on Updraft Gasification of Biomass

Nadia Cerone et al.

Summary: Experimental datasets of gasification on various lignocellulosic feedstocks were used to correlate gasifying agents flow with the performance of updraft gasification. The use of steam was found to stabilize the process and adjust the H-2/CO ratio in syngas, leading to improved energy efficiency. Different operational conditions were identified to achieve the desired products effectively.

Plasma vitrification and heavy metals solidification of MSW and sewage sludge incineration fly ash

Wenchao Ma et al.

Summary: Thermal plasma treatment is a promising method for fly ash disposal. Experimental results show that the formation temperature of vitrified slag can be reduced during co-treatment, and the CaO content in raw materials is related to the volatilization of Cd and Pb. A high Al2O3 content is beneficial for retaining Cr, Cu, and Ni in slags.

Mechanisms of gas temperature variation of the atmospheric microwave plasma torch

Ziyao Jie et al.

Summary: This experiment analyzed the gas temperature of atmospheric air microwave plasma core using molecular emission spectrometry, showing the effects of absorbed microwave power levels, gas flow rates, gas humidities, and volume fractions of CO2 in air. The results demonstrated that the plasma gas temperature mainly ranged from 4000 to 7000 K and varied with different factors such as microwave power and CO2 content.
