In vitro and in vivo efficacy of green synthesized AgNPs against Gram negative and Gram positive bacterial pathogens

Yequan Sheng et al.

Summary: The study synthesized silver nanoparticles using Rubella tuberosa, which showed potential for inhibiting a range of bacterial pathogens, with a minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 4 μg/mL. The nanoparticles also demonstrated effectiveness in inhibiting biofilm formation at concentrations of 4 μg/mL and 16 μg/mL against Gram negative and Gram positive pathogens. Combining the nanoparticles with conventional antibiotics like Vancomycin and Gentamicin resulted in enhanced efficacy against specific bacteria. Additionally, the nanoparticles showed low toxicity to human red blood cells at higher concentrations.
